Dr. David Parker
David graduated from Phillip Institute of Technology (now RMIT) in 1991. He has held various positions such as Victorian President of AOA, and national Vice-President 1994-1996. He also served as Chairman of the AOA's Education Advisory Committee around the same time. David was on the Steering Committee which pushed successfully for a separate Osteopath's Registration Board in Victoria.
David's studies include post graduate education in Visceral Osteopathy with Barral D.O., Functional Osteopathy with Bill Johnston D.O., several Basic and Intermediate courses with the SCTF in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field and Phases I-VIII of the Biodynamic Osteopathy courses with James Jealous D.O. In addition David has completed the Treatment of Children I-III with Robyn Seamer D.O. and Manuela Da Rin D.O. Teaching is very important to David, and he has taught HVLA,Functional, MET technique Osteopathy in the Cranial Field and introductory principles of Biodynamic Osteopathy at an under-graduate level, as well as teaching in the on-campus clinic at RMIT. David is also a member of the Melbourne Biodynamic Study Group which holds regular post -graduate courses. Being a parent of 3 young boys, the treatment of children and the family unit is a strong area of interest. |
Dr. Paola Perin
Experience Paola graduated in 1993 from RMIT with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). She has been in practice since 1993. After participating in the establishment of the Victoria University Student Teaching Clinic, she went on to work there as a Clinical Supervisor. Paola became joint principal of Kew Osteopathic in 1996.
Focus Paola treats a variety of people, across all stages of life. She has extensive experience with pregnancy, children, newborns, and sports & rehabilitation cases. Style Paola has studied postgraduate OCF (Osteopathy in the Cranial Field) training with SCTF (Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation), including tutoring others. Paola is currently training in Biodynamic Osteopathy, having completed Phases I-IV of the Biodynamic Osteopathy courses with James Jealous D.O. In addition Paola has completed the Treatment of Children I-III with Robyn Seamer D.O. and Manuela Da Rin D.O. |
In her treatments she emphasises OCF (Osteopathy in the Cranial Field) and biodynamic osteopathy, combined with structural techniques, to get the optimal result for her patients.
Pregnancy, children, and newborns
Paola has a special interest in pregnancy and children, including newborns. She has training in obstetrics and gynaecology - even going as far as having 2 children of her own for practice :-)
Paola’s approach is to liaise with your team of professionals to coordinate treatment, often including their GP, Maternal Child & Health nurse, Lactation Consultant, or Paediatrician.
Sports & Rehabilitation
After qualifying as a Sports Trainer, spent time working as a Sports Trainer for an Australian Rules Football team.
Paola utilises a variety of tools and techniques. She completed the Paul Chek Core Strengthening and Rehabilitating Program for health professionals, and regularly incorporates these exercises (including theraband and swissball) as part of patient treatment programs.
Paola is also trained in Sports Taping, including shoulders, ankles, wrists, and any other joints or ligaments
In Sports & Rehabilitation cases, Paola will liaise with relevant Pilates Instructors, Personal Trainers, podiatrists, massage therapists, their GP, and Human Resources professionals to facilitate the patient’s recovery.

Dr. Nicole Tuminello
Nicole completed her Undergraduate Degree and Masters in Osteopathy at Victoria University in Melbourne. She discovered osteopathy as an active adolescent where she was instantly attracted to the profession’s holistic approach to treatment. Growing up, Nicole was a very keen netballer, swimmer and dancer, representing Victoria at the Australian Catholic Netball Championships for numerous years. She understands the intense demands that a busy, healthy and dynamic lifestyle can place on the body and individualises her treatment approach accordingly.
Throughout her University education, Nicole worked as a sports trainer for Blackburn Football Club for 5 years, providing treatment and first aid administration to players. Such experience has allowed her to develop a thorough understanding of sporting injuries and their management. During her time at Blackburn, Nicole learnt taping techniques for the ankle, knee, shoulder, wrist and back. |
Nicole has also worked as a Corporate Remedial Massage Therapist, providing relief to desk workers for many postural and stress related issues. Her time working in this industry has given her the opportunity to treat a wide range of conditions from acute sporting injuries to headaches. She has also had experience in relaxation and pregnancy massage. Nicole believes such experience has given her an insight into a wide range of acute and chronic complaints and the best way to treat them.
Nicole is a very open and warm osteopath, who loves to motivate her patients to take a primary role in their health and wellbeing. Nicole leads an energetic and healthy lifestyle, which has helped shape her bubbly personality. She is passionate about rehabilitation and will frequently encourage her patients to participate in home exercise programs, allowing them to play a central role in their own recovery. Nicole prides herself on providing individualised care, catering treatment and management to each patient. She uses a range of treatment techniques to regain optimal function of the body.
Nicole is a qualified dry needling practitioner and frequently uses this as an adjunct to her treatment.

Dr. Yvette Peters
Yvette graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complimentary Medicine) and a Masters of Osteopathy with Distinction.
Yvette was initially drawn to Osteopathy as an active adolescent and was inspired by positive results gained through Osteopathic treatment. She has an extensive background in sports, representing Victoria in the Australian Cross Country championships. She has also had competitive involvement in tennis and athletics. Her active lifestyle enables her to better understand the needs and the functional demands of her patients. Since beginning her Osteopathic studies, Yvette has been a firm believer in holistic health care. She recognises the importance of developing the correct treatment plan to achieve symptomatic relief and ongoing health and wellbeing. |
Yvette uses a wide range of techniques and prescribes exercises, postural and lifestyle advice to ensure optimal patient care. She incorporates Trigger Point Dry Needling where required, to compliment her Osteopathic techniques. Yvette treats people of all ages and a wide variety of conditions.

Dr. Geetha Soosay
Geetha graduated from RMIT University in 2000 and has treated within her practice in Melbourne since 2004. She initiated the provision of osteopathic treatment at Camberwell Medical Centre. Prior to this, Geetha treated patients in Sydney CBD for almost 2 years, gaining experience in various reputable clinics.
Geetha then travelled to Europe spending some time in the French alpine region and then in Cork, Ireland where she busily treated loyal patients in osteopathy over the 3 years. During this period, Geetha worked in various aspects of osteopathy including the treatment of Gaelic football and Cork City football players. She also furthered her experience with paediatric Osteopathy, which she finds particularly rewarding. |
In 2011 Geetha completed her Graduate Certificate in Neonatal and Infant Paediatric Manual Therapy (in addition to having a child of her own). She has attended a monthly Children’s Clinic with many other osteopathic colleagues where babies and children are treated with the goal of sharing experiences and building upon knowledge in the field of paediatric osteopathy. She uses a wide range of techniques depending upon the patient she treats. She is successful in aiding the body to heal itself and aims to have her patients in the best health possible.
Outside of work, Geetha is busy staying in good health herself (exercising frequently) and enjoying time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Marcus Hopkins

Introducing Dr. Marcus Hopkins (Osteopath).
Marcus has joined us here at Kew Osteo after completing his Osteopathic studies at Victoria University.
Marcus has a passion for movement and helping others reach their full potential.
Marcus is an avid sports lover who played footy, rugby and basketball growing up. In his spare time Marcus enjoys spending time with his friends and family as well as getting down to the coast for a surf.
Marcus has joined us here at Kew Osteo after completing his Osteopathic studies at Victoria University.
